WHO CAN ENTER?
The competition is open to all bartenders age 20 or above, employed as a bartender in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France or UK.
WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
LINIE Aquavit has been matured at sea since 1805, resulting in the unique and familiar style we recognise today.
Follow in LINIE’s footsteps, and create a cocktail, inspired by one of the stops on LINIE's route.
You will present your cocktail to the jury and explain the concept. You may want to draw a parallel between the cocktail and your own life journey.
Here are the countries on LINIE AQUAVIT's route:
NORWAY, GERMANY, BELGIUM, ENGLAND, USA, PANAMA, NEW ZEALAND,
AUSTRALIA, SINGAPORE, CHINA, KOREA, JAPAN and MEXICO.
WHAT ARE THE RULES?
Your cocktail must be an original recipe.
No limitation in the number of components allowed in the cocktail, but Lysholm LINIE aquavit (Original or Double Cask) should be the main ingredient.
The cocktail should be easy to implement in your own bar.
You can only choose one destination for your inspirational cocktail: NORWAY, GERMANY, BELGIUM, ENGLAND, USA, PANAMA, NEW ZEALAND, AUSTRALIA, SINGAPORE, CHINA, KOREA, JAPAN or MEXICO.
You may use homemade or custom made ingredients in your cocktail.
You are expected to bring your own homemade ingredients and tools to the national final, and if you make it through, to the International Final (September 2mnd - place to be confirmed).
You must be able to make and present your cocktail to the judges in 8 minutes or less. (10 points penalty / 30 seconds over time)
Your cocktail should be enough for 4 identical serves.
You must consent to the publication of all images connected to the competition, including the cocktail and recipes.
You must consent to the use of your recipe in LINIE's communication during and after the competition.
Thanks also for posting your cocktail picture and recipe on social media, with hashtag #liniethejourney and tagging @linieaquavit_official .
Germany will have qualification rounds in main cities.
Other countries will have a local final in May/June.
Entry deadline will be communicated in due time.
