Anton Windmar - 2018 Finalist - Sweden
Only 2 weeks left before the final of Linie The Journey in Oslo. This year we will have 13 candidates from 7 countries competing. Here is a small presentation of Anton Widmar, candidate from Sweden:
Tell us about yourselves and where you work:
My name is Anton Windmar and I'm 28 years old. At the moment I manage the bar in a restaurant called Miss Voon in Uppsala. It's a high class fun-dining Asian restaurant with a cocktail bar that is also inspired by Asian spirits and flavours.
I started my bartending career more than 10 years ago in London, and I've worked in many different places since then. I'm extremely passionate about making cocktails, and it has become more of a lifestyle than a job to me.
Tell us briefly about the idea behind your Linie cocktail:
My cocktail is inspired by a night in Singapore with my girlfriend, eating Singapore crab at a restaurant by the ocean. It was raining so heavily that the restaurant staff had to come out and get us from the cab with umbrellas.
I tried to recreate that night through a cocktail, and I am very happy with the result: A Linie aquavit version of Singapore crab, with a scent of rain.
