Only 2 weeks left before the final of Linie The Journey in Oslo. This year we will have 13 candidates from 7 countries competing. Here is a small presentation of Sebastian, candidate from Denmark:
Tell us about yourselves and where you work:
My name is Sebastian and I represent Duck & Cover for this years Linie the journey competition.
As a bartender I enjoy working with people and the banter that it creates. I think that, combined with being creative on a daily basis, working with flavours and having people enjoying the experience you provide, is what I enjoy about my work as a bartender.
I’ve been working at Duck & Cover, since the start of 2015, a small, cosy bar at Vesterbro in Copenhagen. The bar’s interior and vibe takes from the Danish mid-century modern minimalism.
At DC you get greeted and seated, served at the table. Our attitude is very down to earth and laid back, service at an eye level whilst having an eye for detail.
Our menu changes roughly every second month, as we try to follow and keep the different seasons in mind for the drinks that we serve. As a bar we're focusing more and more on ‘local' flavours, traditions & history, and of course what we consider local ingredients & spirits. We are a bar situated in Scandinavia, so it only makes sense for us to consider our own culture as well.
Tell us briefly about the idea behind your Linie cocktail:
The concept for my drink this year, derives from last years competitions and the history and tradition of the Linie aquavit’s journey, how we usually pair aquavit with food and focusing on local or Northern ingredients.
